How do you turn an AI project PRD into a UI design?
Translate requirements into screens, actions, and states before polishing the visual design.
How do you turn an AI project PRD into a UI design?
A UI design should make the required user journey understandable. Begin with the task flow in the PRD rather than choosing colors or copying a dashboard layout.
Map actions to views
Identify where users create a project, edit a script, start generation, inspect progress, and retrieve output. Decide which actions share a view and which deserve a separate step. Put the primary action near the information needed to make that decision.
Design the missing states
Include empty lists, unsaved edits, validation errors, processing, failure, and completion. Use realistic text lengths and media dimensions in the design. Walk through a user correcting a script after generation has started and decide what the interface should explain. Review the design against acceptance criteria so a polished mockup does not hide an incomplete workflow.
Start with user tasks, then identify reusable components that support those tasks.
They determine how users recover instead of leaving that behavior to last-minute implementation.
Walk through each required action and check that the view exposes the necessary information and outcome.
