Can I use AI to write my resume?

Can I use AI to write my resume?

You can use AI to organize notes, suggest clearer wording, or critique a draft. Supply factual information and inspect the result carefully. AI-generated text should not become evidence for a skill, responsibility, or achievement you did not actually have.

What to do

• Start with your own notes about the work, dates, tools, and outcomes. Ask for a limited edit, such as shortening a bullet, rather than inventing experience to fit a role.

• Compare the proposed wording with those facts. Check whether verbs overstate ownership or whether a metric or technical detail was added without support.

• Read the result in your own voice and check the exported document. Follow application rules about assistance, and avoid sharing information you are not permitted to disclose.

Example

If a suggested bullet says you deployed a service but you only implemented its API endpoints, revise it to describe the endpoint work accurately.

Use the tool to help express your experience. You remain responsible for every claim in the document.
