A template should make your strongest qualifications easier to read. The best-looking option in a gallery is not always the best choice for your particular content. Compare templates using a complete draft, because a layout that works for a sample candidate may become crowded with your experience.

• Consider the application channel. If you must upload into an employer's system, favor a clear reading order and test the exported text. If you hand a portfolio directly to a person, visual style may have more room to support your work.

• Check how the design treats long role names, several projects, dates, and page breaks. Important details should remain readable without shrinking body text excessively.

• Compare the same content in two or three layouts. Look at the whole page, not just the header. Keep headings recognizable and avoid decoration that competes with the evidence.
