How do you pass artifacts between media-generation stages?
Use stable references and metadata to connect pipeline steps without losing ownership or version information.
How do you pass artifacts between media-generation stages?
An artifact is a saved output such as a script, audio file, image, or rendered video. Stage handoffs should identify the artifact precisely enough to verify and reuse it.
Store a manifest
Record the project, job, input version, stage, storage key, media type, and relevant measured properties. Pass stable identifiers between workers rather than large binary files inside ordinary job messages. Resolve access through the backend or trusted worker so a client cannot substitute another user’s object.
Make handoff completion explicit
Only publish a ready artifact reference after its upload and validation succeed. Distinguish an upload in progress from a usable result. If a temporary signed URL expires, obtain a fresh authorized URL from the stable storage reference rather than treating the artifact as lost. Test a missing object and an outdated version to confirm the receiving stage rejects both with a clear recovery path.
