Does lowering a DNS TTL instantly remove answers already cached elsewhere?

No. Existing cached answers can remain valid under their previous TTL. A lower value affects later answers, so plan changes before the migration when possible.

More FAQs in Why can DNS changes take time to propagate?

A resolver may have cached an earlier negative response for that hostname. Confirm the authoritative record exists, then account for the remaining negative-cache lifetime.

First compare authoritative and cached answers. Repeated edits to correct records complicate diagnosis and may not affect a resolver that still holds the earlier answer.
